Every November, Delaware North hosts the Food and Beverage Summit, a tradeshow and conference for culinary associates. The event is spread over one week, with several educational and informative sessions on what is trending in the industry, social events and the crowd-favorite culinary challenge where the companies top talent squares off in a cooking exhibition and competition.

Chakra Communications, Inc. has been a platinum sponsor since the inception of the event providing event planning, management and marketing assistance to Delaware North. For this year’s event currently in progress, amongst other conventional and digital marketing solutions, Chakra has developed an event mobile application to increase attendee participation while providing attendees important timeline and event highlights at their fingertips including calendar management, speaker bio’s, agenda’s and GPS-based mapping.

The F&B app is powered by Chakra and features a full schedule of events for the entire week, as well as directions and maps to all venues and is integrated with industry-standard social media platforms. The App allows attendees to store personal schedules and allows them to keep their event experience on track.  Attendees can also take notes on the app for each event, that will send them a custom email once the event is concluded, making this fit the Delaware North environment-based GreenPath initiative. The ability to send push notification to attendees, allows event organizers to easily reach participants with last minute changes or availability of transportation.

During the trade show, the attendees will have the opportunity, via the app, to participate in a game designed to encourage participants to visit exhibitors to earn points to qualify for the final prize drawing. These features were developed to drive attendee traffic to exhibitors throughout the event making this a success for vendors as well.
